Terry was born and grew up in Wallace, NC. From 1972 to 1989 he was a marine biologist with the State of North Carolina. Upon graduation from law school in 1992, he was engaged in the general practiced law with the firm of Mosely, Elliott, and Sholar, LLP in Roanoke Rapids, NC. During a portion of that time, he also served as City Attorney for the City of Roanoke Rapids. He moved to Monroe, NC in 2002 and served as City Attorney for the City of Monroe until his retirement from the City in 2013. He joined the firm of Perry, Bundy, Plyler & Long LLP in 2014.
Terry handles a variety of legal matters, including local government law (including condemnations), land use, civil litigation, business law, personal injury, real estate, and estate planning.
Terry’s wife, Debbie, is a retired elementary school teacher. They have 2 adult children and three grandchildren. Terry is active in the First Presbyterian Church (Elder) and numerous non-profit organizations in Union County. He enjoys golf, reading, history, and the coast of North Carolina.
