Monroe Attorney Spotlight: Ashley McBride:

What are your favorite types of cases to take?

My favorite cases to take are the ones where I feel like I can help the entire family-whether it is helping a family work through the estate administration process following the passing of a loved one or helping parents ensure that their special needs child will be taken care.  I always strive to make difficult situations easier and less stressful on my clients, and provide them with the peace of mind that their loved ones will be taken care of.

What do you love about living in Union County?

I was born and raised in Union County and was thrilled to be able to return here and start my career after graduating from law school.  What I love about Union County is that it has that small-town feel, while also offering room for growth. Union County is home for me, and I am honored to work in a profession and firm where I can represent and better my home and its citizens.

Where did you go to high school?

I was part of the first graduating class at Union Academy. Because I was part of the first graduating class, I feel like my classmates and I had a part in building the school, and I still enjoy being involved through various events and activities.

Did you always want to be a lawyer?

I decided I wanted to become a lawyer during my freshman year of college.  I took a constitutional law class to satisfy a history requirement, and after that, I was hooked. I loved the way it challenged me to think about the law and apply it to unique situations.

What would you be if you weren’t a lawyer?

I think if I wasn’t a lawyer, I would want a job that involved writing, maybe an English teacher or a journalist.

What’s your favorite place to eat in Monroe?

I love to eat at all of the local restaurants in Monroe. For a convenient and yummy lunch, Jefferson Street Deli is my go-to.  If I want a good cheeseburger, of course, I go to Duke’s.  For a good Sunday lunch, I love The Palace.

What is your favorite Sunday afternoon activity?

My family and I go to church every Sunday morning.  After that, I love to eat a good meal with family and then spend time relaxing with my daughter and husband.

Dogs or Cats?

Dogs! I have a very cute Australian shepherd named Jax.

Beach or mountains?

Beach in the summer, mountains in the fall!
